Look for the sliver lining...

The Fantagraphics Blog has a post about Tim Kreider, a cartoonist taking up the Iranian newspaper's challenge for funniest Holocaust-related cartoon. Tim is ill, yo:

From Tim's submission letter:
"To the Editors:

I hesitated to enter your contest because your choice of the Holocaust as a subject seems to reveal more about your own bigotry than about Western taboos. Being offended by Danes and retaliating by insulting the Jews seems suspiciously misdirected--sort of like being attacked by al Qaeda and retaliating by invading Iraq..."

See the rest of the cartoon and read the entry at Fantagraphics Blog.

thanks for the add

Danah Boyd talks sense about the teen MySpace phenomena:

"Without impetus, teens rarely choose to go private on MySpace and certainly not for fear of predators or future employers. They want to be visible to other teens, not just the people they they've friended. They would just prefer the adults go away. All adults. Parents, teachers, creepy men."

I love this -
(sm)all ages: because no one should have to listen to the wiggles. ever.

A mp3 blog for kids and the music fan parents who love them. Cool.

aloha...

Well, the Super Bowl was a disappointment. But on to bigger and better things such as...Hawaii! Yes, that's right, we're jetting over to the islands for an extended weekend.

Of course I had to put together an appropriate mix for the ol' ipod, starting with this fun ditty from flavor-of-the-month, Morningwood:
